A fit-again Joao Pereira made a successful return as Pegasus dug deep to force an entertaining 3-3 draw against home team Kwoon Chung Southern, who were playing their first soccer match in the BOCG Life Premier League.

The Brazilian playmaker played for South China two seasons ago when he show glimpses of promise. In Pegasus colours on Sunday, he scored a goal as his team twice came behind to earn a point at Aberdeen Sports Ground.

"I was not in my best condition when I played here last time," said the 26-year-old attacking midfielder, who scored the equaliser for Pegasus on 66 minutes. "But I am now far better. The team helps me and hopefully I can help the team to achieve their targets."

Pegasus, one of the big four clubs along with champions Kitchee, Eastern and South China, led 2-1 against newly promoted Southern before the interval. Jose Diaz put the home team ahead with a header before Montenegro striker Admir Adrovic scored a brace, including a penalty.

But Southern responded after the break with goals from Luk Chi-ho and second-half substitute Wellingsson de Souza, also via a penalty. Pereira then scored a spectacular equaliser, chesting down the ball before unleashing a powerful shot.

"We committed some silly mistakes early in the second half and were severely punished," said Pereira. "But this is the first match of the season and we just need a little improvement."
