Kwoon Chung Southern forward James Ha made a happy return to Kowloon Bay Park after watching his side overcome Dreams Metro Gallery 2-1 in extra time in the Canbo Senior Shield last night.

Centre half Diego Garrido powered home the winning goal on 114 minutes after the score was locked at 1-1 in 90 minutes. The Spaniard met a corner kick from Wellingsson de Souza to seal the victory.

Southern gained a numerical advantage in stoppage time after Gallery striker Paul Ngue was sent to have an early shower after receiving his second yellow card.

It was exactly one year ago that Ha damaged his knee ligament at the same pitch when playing for BC Rangers, forcing him to be sidelined for almost a season before joining Southern this summer.

“It was a very special night for returning to the same venue after such a long absence,” said Ha.

“In fact I had a dream last night finding myself injured again at this artificial pitch, but luckily nothing happened during the real match.

The newly promoted club stand a good chance of making it to the cup tie semi-finals as they will take on struggling Wong Tai Sin for a last-four place.
