It's a case of "better late than never" as four boardsailors left Hong Kong for the RSX World Championships yesterday on a mission to snap up Rio Olympic Games berths a year after most of the world's top windsurfing powers secured their positions.

Six berths will be up for grabs in both the men's and women's events at Al Mussanah Sports City, Oman, from October 17-24 and head coach Chan King-yin was optimistic about completing the mission.

"Most of the top countries qualified for the Rio Games at the world championships last year and I don't think we should have much problem making the grade in Oman," said Chan.
