Hong Kong to play England in 50-over cricket clash in November

HKCA chief Tim Cutler says the matches are part of Pakistan's and England's build-up to their series in the UAE

Hong Kong will face England in a 50-over game for the first time next month during a brief tour of United Arab Emirates that also features a Twenty20 match against Pakistan.

The Hong Kong Cricket Association said yesterday that the matches are part of England and Pakistan’s build-up to their series in the UAE.

Hong Kong face England on November 8 in Abu Dhabi and then take on Pakistan at the ICC Academy Groud in Dubai on November 23.

Tim Cutler, the HKCA chief executive, said he hoped the matches would pave the way for more international fixtures against against elite teams for Hong Kong.

“We are very appreciative of the hard work of the England & Pakistan boards, the ICC and ACC that has gone into securing these matches for Hong Kong and other associate members against such top quality opposition,” said Cutler.
