Leading local jockey Derek Leung stable in hospital after Sha Tin fall
The 28-year-old is thrown from Caga Force during the Class 2 H. Moser CIE. Excellent Handicap on Sunday
Leading local jockey Derek Leung is in a stable condition in hospital following a heavy fall at Sha Tin on Sunday.
Leung was thrown from Caga Force during the Class Two H. Moser CIE. Excellent Handicap as the Danny Shum-trained seven-year-old Bay gelding suddenly veered into the rail on the home straight of the dirt course.
Leung, who has rode six winners this year, was taken directly to the Prince of Wales Hospital and stood down from his remaining rides on the card.

It was Leung’s fourth ride of the day on the last start winner after Caga Force claimed victory at Happy Valley at the end last month under Nash Rawiller.
Reports later emerged Leung had underwent a scan and was talking to his wife in hospital.
