Frustrating second round at Island Resort Championship for Tiffany Chan as rain halts play in Michigan

Olympian plays opening six holes of her second round at the Symetra Tour event in three-over par

Tiffany Chan Tsz-ching endured a frustrating day at the Symetra Tour’s Island Resort Championship as the Hong Kong Olympian played the opening six holes of her second round in three-over par before rain halted proceedings in Michigan.

Chan opened with a first round of two-under-par 70 at the 6,286-yard Sweetgrass Golf Club, but slipped back to one-over par overall and down in a tie for 54th place, sitting right on the projected cut line.

The 23-year-old, though, has plenty of holes remaining to avoid a first professional cut with round two set to resume at 7.30am local time on Sunday morning.

American Emma Talley leads the way at nine-under par and in possession of a three-shot lead after playing the opening eight holes in three-under par with around half the field yet to finish their second rounds.
