The former Barcelona Hong Kong soccer school captain has been limited to six appearances so far this season but has impressed after forcing his way into the first-team with his performances in preseason.
Despite the team’s travails Dai’s first professional goal is another personal highlight of his debut season in the first team squad after notching an assist earlier in the campaign.
Cheung Chi-doy, who played twice for Blackpool in the early 1960s, is the only Hong Kong player to have played in the top tier of English soccer.
South China ‘s Sean Tse Ka-keung was on Manchester City’s books as a youngster but never made a first-team appearance for the club, while 18-year-old Javen Siu Ko-chun currently plays for Premier League Southampton’s under-18 side.
