Asian Games 2018: what events are going on in Indonesia today? Hong Kong involved in a busy day of qualification action

Four days out from the start of the main action in Indonesia and Hong Kong is inching closer to qualification in three team events

There are just four days to go until the start of the main action in Indonesia at the 2018 Asian Games with the opening ceremony on August 18.

However, there are still some qualification stages being played out to determine the final qualifiers for the main tournaments before Saturday’s opening ceremony.

Here is what’s coming up on Wednesday, August 15, with Hong Kong in basketball, football and handball action.

Football

Hong Kong’s men will be hoping to build on their impressive opening group match win over Laos to put one foot in the last-16 of the tournament when they meet Taiwan.

Basketball

Hong Kong’s women will be looking to make a solid start to their five-on-five basketball group when they go up against third-seeded Japan in Jakarta.

Handball

Hong Kong’s men got off to a fine start in their handball campaign securing a win over hosts Indonesia in their opener. A similar result against Saudi Arabia will rubber-stamp their passage to the knockout stages.
