New Nike kit for Hong Kong football team released for Gary White’s first game against Thailand at Mong Kok Stadium
Home jersey features Bauhinia detailing for first time as Yapp Hung-fai heralds a ‘new chapter’ for team before September 30 kit launch
The first game that the kit will be worn in is against Thailand on October 11 at Mong Kok Stadium.
That will also be new boss Gary White’s first game in charge.
It previously featured on the Hong Kong FA crest but has not done since before Nike took over the contract in 2012 when the current shield was debuted.
The new home kit comprises a red shirt and shorts with white socks. The away kit is a white shirt and shorts with red socks.
The goalkeeper kit is all yellow and there is a new yellow training jersey and a pre-match shirt.
Yapp also said that the meaning behind the new design would inspire the team to perform better and thank the fans for their continued support.
The official launch photos feature players from the men’s, women’s and youth sides.
Shirts go on sale on September 30 and are priced at $599.
It will be launched at the Nike store on Nelson Street in Mong Kok with an autograph session.
