Hong Kong’s private sports clubs warned land premiums are coming in 2027 and facilities must be open to public

  • Private sports clubs will be required to pay one-third of the premium at full market value when renewing their land use contract
  • Clubs still have a role to play in sports development but more stringent policies will be imposed by the government
