Dai Wai-tsun has scored his first goal for Wolverhampton since joining the English Premier League club’s Under-23 side this summer.

The 20-year-old Hong Kong player was instrumental in their 4-2 victory over Carlisle United in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night.

With the score locked at 1-1 in the Northern group G game, the attacking midfielder helped the visitors regain the lead in spectacular fashion as a patient build-up play was rewarded. Dai picked his spot from 25 metres out and fired into the bottom corner 40 minutes into the game.

Carlisle equalised again in the closing stages of the first half, but two more goals from Benny Ashley-Seal in the second half completed a memorable for Wolves at Brunton Park, which was also their first match in the competition.
