Unbeatable Sarah Lee claims another sprint gold in Glasgow leg of World Cup series after keirin disappointment

Sarah Lee Wai-sze continued her winning streak on the track on Monday morning (Hong Kong time), claiming another gold medal in the women’s sprint at the World Cup series in Glasgow.
The 32-year-old Hong Kong veteran has dominated the event since the beginning of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic qualification started in late 2018, winning gold in every sprint competition she has entered.
At Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in the east end of the city, Lee was crowned sprint champion for the second consecutive title of the new season following her triumph in Minsk the previous week and sixth overall in the World Cup series since the qualification campaign began.
In between, she also won the World Championships in Poland and two Asian Championships, in Indonesia and South Korea – all counting towards Olympic qualification with the Hong Kong rider placing at the top of the rankings.

In Glasgow, Lee defeated Germany’s Emma Hinze for the second time, having beaten the 22-year-old rising star into second place in Milton, Canada in October last year.
Hinze finished second in the qualifiers with a time of 10.716 over 200 metres, while Lee was fourth in 10.758 seconds.
