Hong Kong physiotherapist Simon ten Cate Brouwer has some sage advice for anyone struggling through the city’s second lockdown.

“I like to say that the best position is your next position,” said the 34-year-old former ice hockey player and competitive trail runner. “It’s very important to get up regularly throughout the day to keep yourself moving. No matter how perfect your posture is, any static position for too long is not good.”

Ten Cate Brouwer, who practised in London for three years before moving to Hong Kong last year, hails from Canada and said even though most people are working at home it shouldn’t deter them from staying mobile.

“Exercising at home during the restrictions isn’t just important to keep those niggles and pains at bay, it plays a vital role in maintaining our mental health, mood, immune system and overall well-being,” he said.
