Kitchee and Eastern Long lions will kick off the remaining season as the two title-chasers meet at Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground on Saturday, the first Hong Kong Premier League match since its suspension in March.

Matches will still be played behind closed doors under the pandemic as the Football Association plans to finish all 17 fixtures, including three cup finals, in the first half of October before launching the new 2020/21 season on October 24.

League leaders R&F will meet Southern on Sunday, also at the Tseung Kwan O venue, while two other facilities, the Hong Kong Stadium in So Kon Po and the Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground, will also be used.

The association had plans to play at the popular Mong Kok Stadium, but that was ruled out by the authorities, possibly because the venue is too close to residential areas.

The association has yet to publish the schedules on its website as they are still waiting for the government’s announcement to reopen the football facilities, which have been closed during the pandemic.
