Hong Kong’s Siobhan Haughey shot up the individual MVP rankings on Sunday as she guided Energy Standard into the International Swimming League final with two wins at the Duna Arena in Budapest.

The 23-year-old set a new Asian short course record for the 100m freestyle in the opening race of the day, which she won in 51.12.

That was Haughey’s second win over the distance this season and her second Asian best of the 2020 ISL campaign after a 200m free benchmark in match nine.

Haughey then took Sunday’s 200m free in 1:51.36 beating teammate Femke Heemskerk to the wall to pile up the points for last year’s champions.

Those wins saw the Hongkonger rise to third on the MVP standings for this first semi-final with 42 points, behind London Roar captain Adam Peaty (52.5) and Energy Standard teammate Sarah Sjostrom (65).

British swimmer Adam Peaty set a short-course world record of 55.49 in the 100m breaststroke, the first short-course record of his career.
