An emotional Cheung Ngan-yi walked off the court after losing once again to India’s star shuttler PV Sindhu but she left everything out there against the Rio 2016 women’s singles silver medallist.

Both players looked like they meant business in the early exchanges, with the winner moving on to the next round.

Sindhu soon took advantage of her height and reach, working Cheung all over the court and it soon ended with her 1-0 up.

“The first game was pretty much easy. In the second game I was leading 6-4, but she came back [and] I was making unforced errors.” Sindhu said.

“The second game was a bit faster, so I had to really control a lot, and then I came into a rhythm. The first couple of points after [reaching] 11 are very important to me and from there I took the lead and finished it off.
