“I know it is not easy for the girls,” said Hong Kong coach Li Cheng. “Ko Lai-chak and I won a silver medal at the Olympics, a long time ago.

“I hope we can win a medal again this time and even if we lose in the semi-finals, we can still win in the bronze medal match. We won’t give in without a fight and we will be sure to make use of the team spirit to give it our best.”
That team spirit was in evidence in the comeback win against Romania.
