Indonesian Open: in-form Hong Kong pair Tang Chun-man and Tse Ying-suet continue quest for World Tour finals spot
- Hong Kong’s mixed doubles duo reached the final of last week’s Indonesia Masters and will need another strong performance in the Open to reach the grand finals
- Lee Cheuk-yiu and Angus Ng will feature in men’s singles in Bali, which is hosting three tournaments in a row

Hong Kong’s Tang Chun-man and Tse Ying-suet – fresh from a final appearance last week – continue their quest for a spot in next week’s World Tour finals when the Indonesia Open starts in Bali on Tuesday.
The highest-level super 1,000 event – the last regular tournament of the year with a total purse of US$850,000 – will also take place in the famous resort island of Bali where Tang and Tse reached the final of the Indonesia Masters mixed doubles last week.
Bali also hosts the World Tour finals with governing body BWF holding three events in the same city to alleviate air travel restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tang and Tse reached the final in the Indonesia Masters at the expense of Tokyo Olympic bronze medallists Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino of Japan before losing the title match to the Thai number one seeds.

“There is only one tournament left before the grand finals but also the biggest one,” said badminton head coach Tim He Yiming. “The two singles and the mixed doubles pair are still in contention for a place and how they perform in Bali this week will be crucial.
