Taipei Open: Hong Kong’s Lee Chun-hei continues hot streak with two doubles victories
- Lee secures wins with Ng Tsz-yau in the mixed doubles and Law Cheuk-him in the men’s doubles on Thursday
- Yeung Shing-choi and Fan Ka-yan, also advance to the quarter-finals on successful day for Hong Kong’s shuttlers

Reginald Lee Chun-hei continued his winning streak at the Taipei Open, with two Hong Kong pairs making it through to the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles on Thursday.
Lee and his partner Ng Tsz-yau secured a 21-14, 21-14 victory over Vinson Chiu and Jennie Gai of Malaysia.
They will now take on Taiwan’s Ye Hong-Wei and Lee Chia-Hish for a place in the last four of the US$500,000 tournament at Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium.

The 28-year-old also made it into the last eight of the men’s doubles, combining forces with Law Cheuk-him to beat Lin Shang-Kai and Tseng Min-Hao of Taiwan 21-19, 21-11 in 30 minutes.
Their opponents in the next round will be Boon Xin Yuan and Wong Tien Ci of Malaysia.
Lee was once Hong Kong’s top ranked mixed doubles player, winning a bronze medal with partner Cathy Chau Hoi-wah at the 2017 World Championships. But he has been off the tour for the past three years because of a shoulder injury, as well as a change of partners and the pandemic.
