Hong Kong pool star Robbie Capito has vowed to become the best version of himself heading into the new year, and wants to make the same impact as snooker’s Marco Fu Ka-chun.
The 21-year-old flew to the US on Sunday for the Derby City Classic, which will be held at the Caesars Southern Indiana casino, just outside Louisville, Kentucky, from January 20 to 28.
Held annually since 1999, the Classic will be the only tournament Capito plays ahead of next month’s World Pool Championship in Poland.
The world No 19 finished ninth in the 8-ball, 9-ball and 10-Ball world championships last year, and is determined that 2023 will be when he finally makes his breakthrough at senior level.
“My goal is certainly to be the world champion at some point in my career and I would also like to win my first international event as soon as possible,” he said.

And while Captio wants to win “as many championships as possible”, his main goal this year is far simpler.
