Henry Leung to take on top seed Ng Eain Yow of Malaysia in Asian Championships squash semi-finals

Henry Leung Chi-hin of Hong Kong has set up a clash against top seed Ng Eain Yow of Malaysia in Friday’s semi-finals at the Asian Championships.
Leung secured an 11-5, 11-3, 6-11, 11-7 win over Wong Chi-him in an all-Hong Kong affair at Squash Centre in Central on Thursday, after world No 17 Ng had made no mistake with a straight sets win (11-3, 11-4, 11-4) against compatriot Addeen Idrakie.
The world No 50 battled the current highest-ranked player from Asia at last year’s Asian Team Championships, long after they played against each other in their junior days, and they are expected to cross paths against at the Asian Games.
“These days we seldom meet in the professional tour as he has a far better ranking,” Leung said. “Ng should be in the top two seeds at the Hangzhou Games and one of the medal favourites.
“He is now based in England and trains regularly with some of the world’s top players and therefore his skills such as his speed and power are much better than Asian players.

“It will therefore be important to have the chance to learn his game in a real competition rather than watching from the outside, so that we can study him thoroughly during our summer training camp.”
