National Games 2025: windsurfing coach wants events to take place in both Victoria Harbour and Sai Kung
- Chan King-yin beieves each venue has its own distinct advantages for hosting races in Hong Kong
- City awaiting approval to host football, fencing, handball, rugby sevens, cycling, golf, windsurfing and beach volleyball

Hong Kong’s head windsurfing coach Chan King-yin believes the city could use both Victoria Harbour and Sai Kung as competition venues to host events at the National Games in 2025.
Chan, who has been at the helm since 2021, said that each venue has its own distinct advantages for the Games’ windsurfing events.
“The harbour will be better for the audience, they will be able to watch it from close by and get to know more about the sport,” he said.
“But, from a competition standpoint, Sai Kung could be better when we take the lowest wind speed into consideration.”
The two-time Asian Games gold medallist said using multiple venues for a windsurfing event is not “uncommon”.
“That being said, the difference is probably only a few miles, so it will be good if we can get the best of both,” he added. “The mobility will be better with two venues, and I think this is a better balance instead of picking only one spot.”
