New Hong Kong sports park for all will have indoor swimming pool, football, rugby pitches and tennis courts
- Facility near Ma On Shan, which will be available to the public, expected to have trial opening next month
- Other amenities include multipurpose arena, climbing wall, golf driving range and a 24-hour gym

A new integrated sports complex spanning more than one million square feet, holding up to 1,500 spectators, and catering for multiple sports is expected to open in Hong Kong later this year.
Sports Park Sai Sha, located on Hoi Ying Road, near Ma On Shan in the New Territories, which plans a trial opening next month, boasts a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, an indoor multipurpose arena, a climbing wall and a 24-hour fitness centre.
Other facilities open to the public include a golf driving range, international standard tennis courts, a football and rugby pitch, and Hong Kong’s only dedicated pickleball court.
“For lacrosse and tennis, we have some junior squads in Hong Kong that will actually use our venue as a training ground,” Andy Chu, the park’s director, said. “But, we are not a private club, everyone is welcome to come and use our facilities.”
Chu said one of those target groups included more than 10 professional sports associations and institutes that would offer courses and training programmes for participants of all levels, including elite athletes and nurturing young talent.
“We also want to partner with schools, community organisations, non-profit groups, district sports associations, and private institutions to provide them with a platform to organise sports-related activities and establish sports culture within the community,” Chu said.
