Olympian and Hong Kong record breakers in city’s National Games athletics squad
Asian bronze-winning relay quartet included in 51-strong party for November’s competition in Guangzhou

The Hong Kong men’s 4x100 metres relay team are set to carry the city’s National Games athletics medal hopes after the sport’s bosses announced their 51-strong squad.
Lee Hong-kit, Chan Yat-lok, Alton Kwok Chun-ting and Magnus Johansson, whose relay bronze was the squad’s only medal from May’s Asian Athletics Championships, received their call-ups for November’s Games during a ceremony at the Hong Kong Sports Institute on Saturday.
Johansson will also compete individually in the 200m, the event in which he claimed Asian under-20 silver last year.
The city’s marathon record-holder Wong Wan-chun remained exiled amid his falling-out with the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates. Instead, Vincent Lam and Cheung Yiu-leung will compete in the cross-border marathon on November 15.

Long-jumper Theo Chan Ming-tai, who went to the 2016 Rio Olympics, was among the 25 men included. Wai Yip-king will double up over 100m and 200m, and Mohammad Kamran will run in both the 800m and 1500m.
