Hong Kong team ‘mean business’ with 2 dressage bronzes at Asian Championships

Jacqueline Siu Wing-ying has said Hong Kong’s riders “mean business” for the FEI Asian Championships after they began their campaign in Thailand with team dressage bronze.
The trio of Siu, Annie Ho Yuen-yan and Samantha Chan finished third on Tuesday with 203.235 points, behind the victorious hosts’ 205.853 and India’s 204.059 on the opening day of the two-week meeting.
Hong Kong claimed five medals from the last championships in 2019, including one gold, but none from the dressage disciplines. The individual dressage will be staged on Thursday.
“It’s always an honour to represent Hong Kong at major tournaments,” Siu said. “[Bronze] reflects the determination, dedication and passion we have for our sport and our region. It’s a wonderful feeling.”
Siu said it showed that “Hong Kong are here and mean business”.

Siu, 42, won Asian Games individual dressage gold in 2018, and silver five years later, when she also combined with Ho and Chan for team bronze.
