ONE Championship: Kongthoranee among host of fighters hoping to take next step on road to fame and fortune
- Kongthoranee Sor Sommai will fight Sharif Mazoriev at ONE Friday Fights 48 in Bangkok
- Victory at Lumpinee Stadium could get the Thai fighter a six-figure deal with ONE Championship

ONE Friday Fights 48 takes place in Bangkok on Friday, with a host of fighters hoping to take the next step in their careers.
Among those seeking fame and fortune at Lumpinee Stadium will be Kongthoranee Sor Sommai, who is looking to build on an excellent 2023.
With shows broadcast live in prime time the fame is easier to come by than the fortune, although Kongthoranee was able to pick up three US$10,00 bonuses for his performances at these events last year.
The Thai flyweight won six of his seven fights, and victory over Sharif Mazoriev in this Friday’s main event could earn him a six-figure deal with ONE Championship.
Mazoriev has experience in MMA but comes into this fight as something of an unknown quantity. His compatriots have been very successful at these events, beating some big name Thai fighters and Kongthoranee will surely be wary of the Russian.
Kongthoranee will be joined on the card by a former opponent. In 2022 Gingsanglek Tor Laksong challenged him for his Rajadamnern lightweight title and was stopped late in the final round.
Gingsanglek only turned 23 last year but already has nearly a decade of experience competing in the big Bangkok stadiums. The former child prodigy has been matched with Joachim Ouraghi, a French flyweight who will be making his first appearance at ONE Friday Fights.
