Rising star Johan Ghazali is returning to ONE Championship action next month when he faces Colombian-American Diego Paez in Bangkok at ONE Fight Night 32.

The 18-year-old phenom will be back at the Lumpinee Stadium venue where he made his name as one of the most electrifying talents in the game and a superstar in his native Malaysia.

His opponent is 13 years his senior and has a single ONE appearance to his name: a split decision loss to Sean Climaco at ONE Fight Night 28 earlier this year.

“It’s been exciting, you know,” Ghazali told the Post. “Not many people know that I’m fighting soon, so it’s gonna be a shocker for the Malaysian fans mostly here.

“He [Paez] comes to fight. He’s experienced, he’s strong, he’s been around. He fought a pretty good fight against Climaco. I’ve been waiting for a fight for quite a while now – and yes, I’m ready.”

Now deep into his training camp in Bangkok, Ghazali is working with former ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon Singha Mawynn and has continued to improve despite a unanimous decision defeat to Johan Estupinan at ONE 170.
