ONE Championship: Anissa Meksen fires warning shot ahead of long-awaited title fight
- France’s Anissa Meksen will battle Thailand’s Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom for the interim kickboxing crown at ONE Friday Fights 46
- ‘I waited for the world title shot for more than three years … this is the belt missing from my collection,’ Meksen says

Anissa Meksen has wanted a ONE Championship title shot for a long time, and has beaten every opponent put in front of her, be that in kickboxing or Muay Thai.
She gets her first shot at a belt at ONE Friday Fights 46, where she takes on Thailand’s Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom for the interim kickboxing crown.
The French fighter is certainly the favourite, given her opponent will be competing in kickboxing for the first time in her career. And while Phetjeeja has plenty of experience in Muay Thai and traditional boxing, Meksen still thinks she holds the advantage.
“She’s very strong and has good leg kicks,” Meksen said. “This makes the first fight in kickboxing [for Phetjeeja] so it’s different rules and it’s my discipline, my sport.”
Phetjeeja burst onto the scene this year and already has four wins on ONE Championship cards, with all of those coming inside the distance. She has been much busier than Meksen who has not fought in nearly 17 months after a high-profile dispute.

She was booked to face Stamp Fairtex in a mixed rules fight at ONE Fight Night 6 in January but withdrew at the last minute. That clearly wasn’t the match that Meksen wanted, but this one is.
