UFC’s Joe Rogan on Hong Kong protests – ‘China is so rigid, authoritarian and scary’
- UFC commentator says ‘the most insane crowd of people are filling the streets’ on latest episode of hugely popular podcast
- Hong Kong people are ‘very unhappy’ with shift from British rule to Chinese, thinks Rogan

UFC commentator Joe Rogan has discussed the anti-extradition bill protests in Hong Kong for a second time, blasting China as “authoritarian” and “scary”.
On the latest episode of his hugely popular YouTube podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, the American and guest Brendan Schaub – a former UFC heavyweight – talked about the ongoing situation in the city.
“Have you been watching those f****** protests on TV, in Hong Kong?” Rogan asked Schaub on the JRE MMA Show. “Bro, it’s been going on forever. The streets are filled with people.”
Rogan’s producer then pulled up a Google image search of the protests on the in-studio screen, prompting gasps of amazement from Rogan and Schaub.
“Oh my god, we’re looking at a photo of Hong Kong right now. The most insane crowd of people that are filling the streets,” Rogan said.
“It’s like the Women’s March times a million on steroids. There’s no p**** hats there, they’re ready to kill.”
