One Championship will run two Tokyo cards on same day for blockbuster 100th show
- Two ‘full-scale world championship events’ will each feature 11 fights
- Sunday morning show to air live on US television network giant TNT
One Championship made a blockbuster announcement on Monday night, revealing that October 13’s stacked “Century” show will feature two cards on the same day.
The two “full-scale world championship events” at the famed Ryogoku Kokugikan will each feature 11 fights, One CEO Chatri Sityodtong revealed in a Facebook post.
One will air live on US television for the first time, with the Sunday morning show to be broadcast on network giant TNT in a Saturday night prime time slot, as well as “other select countries”, according to Chatri.
The evening Tokyo show will air live across more than 140 countries, as part of a huge double header for the Asian MMA organisation’s 100th event.
Chatri said he would announce the full fight cards soon. But several huge bouts have already been revealed.
Angela Lee will defend her atomweight title in a rematch against Xiong Jingnan, after falling short in a bid to claim the strawweight championship from the Chinese “Panda” in Tokyo at the end of March.
