Dana White has broken his silence on The New York Times’ report of an alleged sexual assault by Conor McGregor, claiming the UFC star insisted “it’s not him”.

The report in March said McGregor was arrested by Irish authorities in January, and that he is under investigation for an alleged assault last December.

The report said the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion has neither been charged nor convicted. The Irishman has yet to comment on the allegation.

“I know zero about that,” UFC president White said during a media scrum in Las Vegas after the finale of television show Dana White’s Contender Series. “To be honest with you, the back-and-forth that I’ve had with him about that is that it’s not him, it’s somebody else. So I don’t know.”

White also commented on McGregor’s lengthy interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, in which the 31-year-old admitted he was “in the wrong” for punching an elderly man in a Dublin pub.
