Colby Covington has hit back at “childish” Dustin Poirier for his “distasteful” comments at the UFC 242 post-event press conference.
Poirier called Covington a “f****** sell out” for trash talking their fellow American Top Team fighter Jorge Masvidal – whom Covington now calls his “ex-best friend”.
“I thought they were very distasteful comments,” Covington told Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. “I’m not a sell out, I bought in. He [Poirier] tapped out, that’s what happened.”

The former interim welterweight champion said Poirier was mad at him because he picked Khabib Nurmagomedov to beat him at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi.
“There’s a reason they call me the people’s champ. I had to give the people America’s pick of the week, I had to give them my honest opinion. I thought this was land of the free, home of the brave, freedom of speech. Sorry I can’t have an opinion,” he said.
