UFC: Khabib’s father tells Conor McGregor ‘Moscow is waiting for him’ if he wants rematch

  • ‘We want to host him in Moscow, he is welcome,’ says Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov
  • Irishman has demanded lightweight title rematch in Russian capital – where he claims he has more fans than the Dagestan native

Khabib’s Nurmagomedov’s father has added fuel to the fire for a Conor McGregor rematch, saying “Moscow is waiting”.

The Irishman had said “book my rematch in Moscow” after Khabib said he could next fight at a stadium in the Russian capital following his successful lightweight title defence against Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi last month.

And Khabib’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, seems open to letting McGregor try his luck in enemy territory.

“If McGregor wants it, then Moscow is waiting for him,” Abdulmanap said in an interview with Zhivina100.

“He said once that he has more fans here than Khabib. We want to host him in Moscow, he is welcome – we are waiting.”

Abdulmanap did, however, insist McGregor needs to wait his turn with Tony Ferguson next in line for a title shot.

“Before McGregor we should finish our business with Ferguson,” he added. “Because he had 28 fights, and runs a 12-fight winning streak in the UFC, just like Khabib.

“Such winning streaks and such big fights have never happened in the UFC.”
