The trash talk between Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya is never dull. And “Bones” has come back with another jibe on social media.
New undisputed middleweight champion Adesanya had claimed on Monday the light heavyweight champion was “jealous” and “intimidated” by him, because he is “the new face of the UFC”.
“He sees the freshman that’s taking all the shine. It’s the new dog in the yard … He’s always been a fan. He’s still a fan. I’ve known he’s a fan. Just wait your turn,” the Nigerian-New Zealander told Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show.
That did not set too well with UFC pound-for-pound No 1 Jones, who has been trying to goad Adesanya into fighting him.
“I’m not out here searching for dragon ball Z fans, I’m in pursuit of these history books,” Jones tweeted on Tuesday. “Being mentioned with history’s greatest combatants ever. F****** nerd.”
