Angela Lee has had a difficult year. The One atomweight champion started 2019 with an undefeated record, but after two recent setbacks in the strawweight division, now finds herself in the midst of an unfamiliar rough patch.

Lee will to look regain her footing at One: Century on Sunday in Tokyo, when she attempts to defend her title against One strawweight champion Xiong Jingnan – the woman responsible for one of her recent losses.

“I’ve been through what I’ve been through this year, but I’ve just gotten stronger from it,” the cheery atomweight champ told the Post at Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo on Friday.

“It’s not the end of the world. Of course everyone wants to go out there and win, but sometimes it doesn’t go your way. You’re a fighter. Dust yourself off, find out what you did wrong, and try to be better from it.”
