Conor McGregor tells Dana White to book UFC 245 fight against Frankie Edgar and give his purse to charity
- ‘The Notorious’ and ‘The Answer’ agree to fight each other in December after some back and forth on social media
- Edgar tells McGregor ‘it’s on you and Dana to make it happen’ and the Irishman says ‘make the bout’
Conor McGregor has told UFC president Dana White to book him against Frankie Edgar in December – and to donate his purse to charity.
The Irishman initially replied to a tweet by the official UFC Twitter account which wished “The Answer” a happy 38th birthday.
Former featherweight and lightweight champion McGregor – who has not fought in the Octagon since a submission defeat by Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018 – chimed in with his own birthday wishes, and added “see you in December”.
“Thanks pal,” Edgar responded. “I said yes already it’s on you and @danawhite to make it happen.”
“There you go White, make the bout,” McGregor added in a follow-up tweet. “Give my purse to charity. First responders.”
Edgar announced a move down to bantamweight after a defeat by featherweight champion Max Holloway at UFC 240 in July, but has since said he would happily fight McGregor at lightweight.
