Conor McGregor has told UFC president Dana White to book him against Frankie Edgar in December – and to donate his purse to charity.

The Irishman initially replied to a tweet by the official UFC Twitter account which wished “The Answer” a happy 38th birthday.

Former featherweight and lightweight champion McGregor – who has not fought in the Octagon since a submission defeat by Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018 – chimed in with his own birthday wishes, and added “see you in December”.

“Thanks pal,” Edgar responded. “I said yes already it’s on you and @danawhite to make it happen.”

“There you go White, make the bout,” McGregor added in a follow-up tweet. “Give my purse to charity. First responders.”

Edgar announced a move down to bantamweight after a defeat by featherweight champion Max Holloway at UFC 240 in July, but has since said he would happily fight McGregor at lightweight.
