UFC: Conor McGregor fighting Frankie Edgar ‘makes no sense’, says Dana White

Dana White has shot down any chance of Conor McGregor fighting Frankie Edgar on his eventual return to the UFC Octagon.

“The Notorious” and “The Answer” agreed to fight each other in December in a social media exchange, and threw the ball in UFC president White’s court.

“I said it leading into the [Floyd] Mayweather fight: ‘He may never fight again after this fight when you make this kind of money’,” White told the Boston Herald. “He’s fought once since then.

“Conor loves to fight and wants to fight again, but the Frankie Edgar fight isn’t going to happen.”

The 38-year-old Edgar (23-7-1) recently announced a move to bantamweight after coming up short in a title bid against featherweight champion Max Holloway.
