UFC 244: Nate Diaz says he’s out of Jorge Masvidal fight because of ‘tainted supplements’ in angry Twitter post

  • The 34-year-old says he has tested positive and will not fight next weekend in New York
  • Diaz issues a statement on Twitter titled ‘[You’re] all on steroids not me’

If you’re asking Nate Diaz himself, he will not be fighting Jorge Masvidal in the main event of UFC 244 next weekend in New York.

Diaz issued a statement on Twitter titled “[You’re] all on steroids, not me”, in which he explained that he has tested positive for elevated levels of tainted supplements. Diaz famously does not eat meat and said he only “takes whole food or natural food supplements”.

Diaz is fighting Masvidal for the “BMF” belt as the main event of the card.

He further stated he could have kept quiet and taken the fight but he didn’t want to take that route, saying, “That’s cheating”.

“I’m not gonna make it out to NYC for [the] fight next week because they say I tested with elevated levels that they say might be from some tainted supplements,” he wrote in the post.

“So until UFC, Usada or whoever f***ing with me fixes it, I won’t be competing. I’m not going to play their game and try and hide it or keep quiet, as they suggested.

“I’m not gonna have my name tainted as a cheater like those ... who keep quiet until after the fight, just so they can get paid.

“I’ll see you when I see you.”
