UFC: Israel Adesanya calls out Yoel Romero as Paulo Costa undergoes bicep surgery
- ‘Stylebender’ tells former middleweight contender Romero ‘see you soon’ as he looks to ‘shut all the naysayers up’

Israel Adesanya has called out Yoel Romero after UFC president Dana White revealed undefeated No 1-ranked middleweight contender Paulo Costa has been sidelined with injury.
“Paulo had surgery on his bicep, so he’s out for eight months. But we are working on something else with Israel right now,” UFC president Dana White told online sports commentator The Schmo in New York.
But White shot down the idea of making a fight with light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
“No. he [Adesanya] just won the title, to do a Jones super fight right now doesn’t make sense. There’s guys in his own weight division that he can fight,” he said.
Thankfully for his fans, Adesanya – who became the undisputed champion with a stunning second-round KO of Robert Whittaker in Melbourne last month – filled everybody in on what is likely next for him.
