UFC 244: Dana White shoots down Nate Diaz v Jorge Masvidal rematch – ‘doesn’t interest me’

Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal have both said they’re willing to run it back. But Dana White isn’t interested.
The highly-anticipated UFC 244 main event for the “BMF” title belt was living up to all the hype before the cageside doctor deemed Diaz should not continue before the fourth round.
Diaz had a nasty cut above his right eye, courtesy of a huge kick from “Gamebred” in the first round, and told the doctor he wanted to continue. The capacity Madison Square Garden crowd voiced its displeasure at the decision, erupting into boos and chanted “b*******” in unison.
“No, it doesn’t interest me right away,” White said at the post-event press conference.
“I think, I got asked a couple of questions tonight. ‘Diaz comes on in later rounds. If the bout had gone later ...’. It didn’t. It got stopped with cuts.
“Masvidal looked very dominant. He’s looked good all year, had nothing but great fights all year. If anybody is fighter of 2019, it’s that kid. He’s got some big options coming his way.”

Masvidal (35-13) is likely to be next in line for a welterweight title shot against the winner of next month’s UFC 245 main event between Colby Covington and champion Kamaru Usman.
“Diaz has to get sewed up tonight then in four weeks he’s gotta have plastic surgery to get all the cartilage out of his eyebrows, or whatever the doctor was telling me. He’s gotta have some work done,” White said.
“I think right now Masvidal has had an amazing year. And he’s gonna move on to something else. I’m not saying Diaz and Masvidal might not end up facing each other again, it’s just not something I’m looking at right away.”
