UFC 244: Jorge Masvidal says Conor McGregor ‘won’t sign the paper’ to fight him

  • Masvidal laughs off idea of fighting Irishman – ‘if he wants this, you know what I’ll do to that dude’
  • ‘He punches old dudes in the face because that’s the people he can beat’

Conor McGregor said he wanted the winner of UFC 244’s “BMF” title fight as part of his “season” in 2020. But Jorge Masvidal has sent the Irishman a warning.

“That dude’s been talking wild for a while,” Masvidal said of McGregor, after beating Nate Diaz at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.

“If he fights and gets a victory and he wants this, you know what I’ll do to that dude. I’ll f*** that guy up, he’s a f****** midget. The president of the UFC Dana White said I’m too much man for him.”

McGregor announced at a press conference in Moscow last month that he is targeting his return to the Octagon for January 18 in Las Vegas.

White confirmed the UFC is looking to book the former featherweight and lightweight champion against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone for that date.

The Irishman has not fought since a fourth-round submission defeat by Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018.

UFC 244: Masvidal calls out Canelo – ‘I could hurt him’

“I get why people wanna see him get hurt for the stunts he’s pulling,” Masvidal said. “He was cheering for Nate, he wanted to run it back with Nate. You think he was sitting at home watching on TV and wanting to fight me?”

McGregor avoided a prison sentence last week after being convicted for assault for punching an elderly man in a Dublin pub in April.

“He punches old dudes in the face because that’s the people he can beat,” Masvidal added. “Dana’s not gonna promote that fight, you can’t get that guy to sign the paper.”
