Colby Covington has renewed hostilities with Dana White, claiming the UFC president “lies all the time”.

The former interim welterweight champion’s hostilities stem from being stripped of his belt last year. White claims Covington turned down the chance to fight for the welterweight title twice – against Tyron Woodley earlier this year, and then Kamaru Usman in November.

Covington said he was lowballed for the main event slot at Madison Square Garden. But the fight between Covington and “The Nigerian Nightmare” Usman was eventually made for UFC 245 on December 14.

“Why is it put on me that I didn’t want to fight when you’re getting me a petty, b******* offer when I built this thing up into something bigger than life. It’s a spectacle,” Covington told MMAFighting.com. “I brought out the president and I wasn’t even fighting.

“It’s sad the narrative he tries to run and what’s even sadder are the fans and the people who actually believe anything that comes out of his mouth,” Covington said. “He’s always making up lies about me in the media, making these false and fake narratives. I’m not afraid to call a spade a spade.”
