Georges St-Pierre’s coach has claimed the former UFC two-weight champion would have no problem stepping in at UFC 245 if Colby Covington or Kamaru Usman got injured. St-Pierre hung up his gloves for the second time after coming out of retirement to win Michael Bisping’s middleweight title in November 2017. Tristar Gym head coach Firas Zahabi thinks the 38-year-old would be willing and able to win his old welterweight title back though on short notice later this month. “He trains all the time, he’s a machine,” Zahabi told UFC commentator Joe Rogan on the JRE MMA Show . “Dude, I’m telling you, if Usman or Colby gets injured, like … I dunno, I don’t wanna talk for Georges, but he can kill anybody this man. “He’s the world’s greatest martial artist. I’m telling you, he’s a monster. I was training with him on Saturday. He’s an animal. “He loves to train. Saturday he trained, he finished all his rounds, then he was coaching some blue belts and purple belts, and just hanging out with them talking technique. The guy loves this stuff. UFC: Khabib feels ‘fire burning inside again’ for Ferguson fight Despite retiring, St-Pierre is still angling for a fight with lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, but the Russian is tied up defending his title against No 1 contender Tony Ferguson in April. “I don’t wanna talk for him but the only thing that’s gonna motivate him is a mega fight,” Zahabi said. “He doesn’t wanna be a champion again and fight every three or four months. That’s done. That’s not gonna happen no more. “But one mega fight … invite him back, see if you can entice him, because he’s a competitor. He’s still training, he’s still ripped, shredded. He could do five rounds. He could get in fight shape. He’s there. He’s a very young 38-year-old. I would tell you he’s 20 years old.”
