UFC: Joe Rogan says it would be ‘real shame’ if Jorge Masvidal’s next fight isn’t for the title
- UFC commentator wants to see ‘Gamebred’ against Colby Covington or Kamaru Usman more than Nick Diaz
- ‘He’s so close, he’s huge … right now he’s in his prime of primes’
UFC commentator Joe Rogan has said it would be a “real shame” if Jorge Masvidal doesn’t fight for the welterweight title next.
“BMF” champion Masvidal has plenty of options on the table, not least a rematch with Nate Diaz, or even a fight with Nate’s brother Nick Diaz. Conor McGregor is also raising eyebrows after opting to return to the Octagon at 170 pounds against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in January.
Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman fights Colby Covington in the main event of UFC 245 on December 14 and Rogan thinks Masvidal should take the winner.
“I think it would be a real shame if right now, in his prime of primes, he [Masvidal] didn’t fight for the title. He’s so close. He’s huge, right?” Rogan said on the JRE MMA Show.
“I wanna see first no matter what Colby and Usman, super excited about that. Once that’s done I want Masvidal to fight for the title, whoever’s got the belt, if Masvidal and Nick don’t fight on the [UFC 246] undercard.
