UFC: Jorge Masvidal says he’ll ‘take Kamaru Usman to school’ then ‘pick him back up, drop him home’

  • ‘I’ll break his face,’ says Masvidal as the ‘BMF’ champion kicks off war of words with welterweight king
  • ‘He can’t hang with me. He’s too one-dimensional. He sure as hell ain’t tough’

Jorge Masvidal has been throwing out Conor McGregor’s name for a potential big payday. But don’t think he’s forgetting about Kamaru Usman.

UFC president Dana White seems keen to match welterweight champion Usman up with Masvidal next, despite Masvidal also talking of a money-spinning boxing crossover with Floyd Mayweather or Canelo Alvarez.

Now the “BMF” champion has revealed he’s down to chase the 170-pounds belt next year too.

“When I fight Usman I’m gonna break his face. I’ll say it right now on your show first. I’m gonna embarrass that dude,” Masvidal told FanSided’s Mark Carman.

“I’m gonna take him to school, drop him off. I’m gonna pick him back up, put him on the bus. Take his ass home. That’s exactly what I’m gonna do to that guy.

“He can’t hang with me. He’s too one-dimensional, he’s not skilled. And he sure as hell ain’t tough. He doesn’t have that next-level grit in him.”

UFC: Masvidal, Askren agree on Colby – ‘make no excuses’

Masvidal pointed to Usman’s performance against Colby Covington in their welterweight title fight at UFC 245 last weekend, and how Covington pushed him close before a fifth-round TKO.

“I’ve seen it many times. I saw it with the guy that cleans the mats for me after I’m done whupping his ass,” Masvidal said, referring to Covington. “Gave him as much as he can handle. What does he think is gonna happen when I put my paws on him?

“The plan is Conor, Usman, Mayweather, whichever one of those falls in line and how they fall in line, that’s our plan,” he added. “I love to compete, I love to fight.”
