Jorge Masvidal is still willing to fight Nick Diaz – but he says he won’t wait around for anybody. Diaz called out Masvidal after “Gamebred” beat his brother Nate Diaz for the “BMF” title belt in the main event of UFC 244 at Madison Square Garden. “Don’t talk about baptising my younger brother,” Nick said in an interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani last month, calling for a 2020 fight at AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington, Texas, “I’m here to fight, my time is limited,” Masvidal told FanSided’s Mark Carman, when asked about accepting the fight. “I got three years left, time waits for no man. “If he [Nick Diaz] gets all his stuff straightened out with Usada and the UFC, and Dana White and the people put together a package and they call my firm and give them the numbers and everything is signed, we’ll take that fight as well.” Diaz (26-9) has not fought since a 2015 loss to Anderson Silva was overturned to a no contest after he tested positive for marijuana for a second time. He was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for five years, and fined US$150,000. UFC: Masvidal rips into Diaz for comments after fight UFC president Dana White has said he believed Diaz was done with fighting, but Masvidal is open to the idea – though he is also chasing bouts with Conor McGregor and welterweight Kamaru Usman. “I’m not sitting here waiting for nobody. The only reason I’m not fighting right now is I’ve got a couple of injuries I’m nursing,” he added. “As soon as those heal up I’m gonna get in there and baptise somebody.”
