UFC: Khabib ‘trembling’ says Conor McGregor – ‘he can run, but he can’t hide’
- Irishman says lightweight champion doesn’t want rematch – ‘he’s afraid, and that’s it’
- ‘Everyone wants it, Dana White wants it. I look forward to it’
Khabib Nurmagomedov may have roundly dismissed the idea of a rematch. But Conor McGregor is not letting go.
“I’m just having fun with it all now,” the Irishman told The Mac Life. “He is trembling, that man is trebling, he doesn’t want it. He’s trying not to lose it again. I just smell s***. That’s all it is, he’s afraid and that’s it.
“Everyone wants it – the boss wants it, Dana [White] wants it, we all want it. So he can run but he can’t hide. I look forward to it.”
Former featherweight and lightweight champion McGregor returns to the UFC on January 18 against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at 170 pounds.
It will be his first appearance in the Octagon since an infamous, heated October 2018 submission defeat by lightweight king Khabib, when the bad blood spilled outside the cage.
