UFC: Colby Covington wants to fight rapper 50 Cent in a charity boxing bout after race comments
- Covington says he wants rapper 50 Cent in a charity boxing bout because ‘he was talking mad c*** about me’
- The former welterweight interim champion said he would donate US$1 million and box with one hand tied behind his back
UFC welterweight Colby Covington has challenged renowned rapper 50 Cent to a boxing bout with US$1 million on the line and “any” hand tied behind his back.
“I’m ready to do a celebrity boxing match. I’m gonna tie one hand behind my back, and I’m gonna fight 50 Cent. I’m gonna put up a million of my dollars and I’m gonna donate all my money to the troops because they put it all on the line for America,” Covington (professional MMA record 15-2) said to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani.
“I’m gonna tie my left hand or my right hand, he can pick which one. It really doesn’t matter because both are lethal.”
After Covington’s fifth-round loss via punches, Jackson had posted a screenshot of a bloodied-up Covington with the caption, “well look at the bright side, you won’t say the wrong thing or anything. For the next [six] weeks,” alongside a laughing emoji.
The comment was in reference to rumours that Covington – an outspoken fan of US president Donald Trump and the first UFC belt-holder to be invited to the White House – broke his jaw in the third round of the fight.
