UFC 247: Valentina Shevchenko dispatches Katlyn Chookagian with third-round TKO
- ‘Bullet’ continues to dominate flyweight division with impressive victory in Houston
- ‘I’m open for anything, any fight to come in the future,’ says Shevchenko

Valentina Shevchenko came into her UFC 247 co-main event 14-1 on and by the end there was little doubt why.
The women’s flyweight champion put on a clinic to dispatch Katlyn Chookagian via TKO in the third round at Toyota Centre in Houston, Texas, racking her impressive record up to 19-3 with three successful title defences.
The 31-year-old continues to dominate her division and is seemingly running out of challengers, with bantamweight and featherweight Amana Nunes the only women to beat her in the Octagon.
“I feel there is a lot of talented, very good girls in 125 division,” Shevchenko told Joe Rogan in her post-fight interview. “I still have to fight them, but I’m open for anything, any fight to come in the future.”

Shevchenko and Chookagian felt each other out in cautious early exchanges before the champion took the challenger down late in the first round. “Bullet” then sliced the American open on the side of the face in the dying seconds with a brutal elbow from in full guard.
