UFC 247: Jon Jones ignores Israel Adesanya questions – ‘I’m just here so I don’t get fined’

After successfully defending his light heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247, it was clear Jon Jones was in no mood to talk about Israel Adesanya.
“Stylebender” – who has mercilessly trash talked Jones on social media since winning the middleweight title last year – fired the first shot, tweeting “LOL” after Saturday night’s main event in Houston, Texas.
But at the post-event press conference inside Toyota Centre, Jones was – understandably – more interested in talking about other subjects, such as breaking the record for most UFC championship fight wins (14).
So when Adesanya’s name was twice raised by members of the media, Jones smiled and trotted out the same response.
“I’m just here so I don’t get fined,” he said, echoing NFL superstar Marshawn Lynch’s famous 2015 Super Bowl media day refrain.
